1. FPL Kitty's role
FPL Kitty is the administrative operating system for organised FPL competitions. Running a competition with real prizes involves considerable manual work and a high degree of trust: Organisers must track entries and payments, keep standings accurate week after week, declare and honour prize structures, and maintain records that Participants can rely on. FPL Kitty exists to handle that administrative burden — providing the accountability, transparency and automation that make competitions fair, credible and manageable at scale.
The platform gives Organisers the tools to set up and configure competitions, automate scoring against official FPL data, publish live standings and leaderboards, manage memberships and entry status, disclose declared prize structures, track payment records transparently, and maintain an auditable history of results and payouts across an entire season.
We do not collect, hold, safeguard, control, escrow, distribute or guarantee entry fees, prize funds, winnings or any other Participant money. FPL Kitty operates solely as a SaaS record-keeping and administrative interface. The platform never receives, holds, escrows, handles, or routes participant entry fees or prize funds. Every competition, and all money in it, is a matter directly between the Organiser and their Participants. We are not a party to it, and we are not a wallet, escrow agent, payment intermediary, prize custodian or prize guarantor.
Where the Service shows an entry fee as “paid”, a pot as funded, or a prize as “paid out”, that is a record entered or confirmed by the Organiser — it is not a payment made or financially verified by Xylos, and it is not a guarantee that money has actually moved.
2. Competitions must be games of skill, and must be lawful
FPL Kitty is for skill-based fantasy football competitions, where results are determined by the Participants' own selections and management decisions across a season or a defined set of gameweeks.
You must not use the Service to run any lottery, raffle, sweepstake, prize draw decided by chance, betting, wagering or gambling activity, or any competition where the outcome is not predominantly determined by skill.
Before you publish or promote a competition, you must satisfy yourself that it is lawful in every place where you offer, promote or accept entries — including for each Participant's location. Paid-entry contests, prize promotions and fantasy sports are regulated very differently between countries and, in the United States, between states; some prohibit paid entry entirely, and some require registration, licensing or bonding. Obtaining and maintaining any licence, permit, registration or filing is entirely your responsibility. If you are unsure, take your own legal advice before you start.
You must exclude Participants from any jurisdiction where your competition would be unlawful, and you must not accept entries from anyone under 18.
Xylos reserves the right to employ automated IP-based and registration-based geo-blocking to restrict paid-entry competition creation or participation in prohibited jurisdictions or US states.
3. Entry models
Paid-entry competitions. You set an entry fee and collect it directly from your Participants into your own account, through your own arrangements. FPL Kitty never receives it.
Free / sponsored competitions. Entry is free and the prize is funded by you or by a sponsor. You must disclose who is funding the prize, and any sponsor's involvement, honestly and clearly. You must not describe a competition as sponsored if there is no sponsor.
Whichever model you use, capacity limits, plan limits and any capacity unlocks purchased from Xylos are governed by the Terms of Service.
4. What you must tell your Participants before they join
Publish clear terms for your competition, covering at least:
- who can enter, and any excluded locations;
- the entry fee (if any), the currency, the deadline, and exactly how and where to pay you;
- the prize structure — total prize pool, how it is split, monthly versus season prizes, and any deductions such as an organiser or house margin;
- who funds the prize (you, a sponsor, or entry fees);
- the scoring rules, the gameweeks covered, and how ties are broken;
- when and how prizes will be paid, and by whom;
- what happens if the competition is cancelled, does not fill, or is affected by an FPL data issue; and
- how to contact you with a complaint or dispute.
Any prize figure you declare on FPL Kitty is your declaration. You must be able to honour it. Declaring a prize does not create any obligation on, or funding by, Xylos.
5. Prizes, refunds and disputes are your responsibility
As Organiser you are solely responsible for:
- collecting entry fees and paying prizes accurately, in full and on time;
- any taxes, withholding, deductions or reporting arising from entry fees or prizes, for you and where applicable for your winners;
- refunds and cancellations, and communicating them promptly; and
- handling complaints and disputes with your Participants.
Xylos will not fund, advance, top up, insure, adjudicate or settle any prize, entry fee, refund or dispute, and is not liable if you fail to pay a prize. Participants with a payment or prize complaint must raise it with the Organiser. We may, at our discretion and without any obligation, share relevant competition records to help resolve a dispute, and we may act on repeated, substantiated complaints under section 8.
6. Fair play
Participants must enter using their own genuine FPL team and must not use multiple accounts or teams, share accounts, collude, manipulate standings, or exploit bugs or data errors. Organisers must apply their published rules consistently and must not alter rules, standings, prize structures or eligibility part-way through a competition to favour any person, unless the change is disclosed to all Participants and applied fairly.
An Organiser who takes part in their own competition must disclose it clearly.
7. FPL data, scoring and season events
Scoring depends on data published by the official FPL game. That data can be delayed, corrected retrospectively, incomplete or unavailable, and the FPL game's own rules, deadlines and season structure can change. FPL Kitty is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by the Premier League or Fantasy Premier League.
Standings shown on FPL Kitty are provisional until final FPL points for the relevant gameweeks are confirmed. Organisers are responsible for deciding and publishing how their competition handles retrospective points changes, postponed or abandoned fixtures, a shortened season, and periods where data is unavailable, and for the final decision on results.
8. Enforcement
We may investigate, restrict, unpublish, suspend or remove a competition, item of content, or account where we reasonably believe these rules or the Terms of Service have been breached, where a competition may be unlawful, where there are substantiated reports of unpaid prizes or deception, or where action is needed to protect users, the Service or third parties, or is required by law. Where practical and lawful we will give notice and an opportunity to respond.
Removing a competition does not cancel an Organiser's obligations to their Participants, including any obligation to pay prizes or refunds.
9. Fees payable to FPL Kitty
Subscriptions, platform fees such as sponsored-capacity unlocks, and organiser royalties are amounts you pay to Xylos for the software. They are separate from any money exchanged between you and your Participants, and are governed by section 7 of the Terms of Service.
10. Participant data
Information you collect from your Participants is your responsibility. You must handle it lawfully, tell your Participants how you use it, use it only for your competition unless they agree otherwise, and keep it secure. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Notice.
11. Changes
We may update these rules and will take reasonable steps to notify you of material changes.
